Pylon signs are often called pole or freestanding signs and are erected on a pole or pylon independent of any building or similar structure. The main difference between the two - pylon and pole - is that pylons have shrouded poles, adding an architectural elegance to the structure.
Pole and pylon signage can be of simple construction or works of art. They can range from a standard illuminated cabinet or box sign to include other elements, such as neon lettering or accents; a motorized, rotating sign display; or lit graphic elements. Any - or all of these -adding dimension (and impact!) to your sign. Since they are typically mounted higher in the air than monument signs, pylon/pole signs offer excellent visibility from a distance and will set your business, and your identity, above all others, by cutting through the confusion of obstacles and marking your place in the air, and on the ground.
The pylon, or pole, signage is typically illuminated, either internally (most common) or externally.
